Weekly Challenge: Kill 1500 Enemies in Matchmaking

Ok guys, so daily challenges come and go, typically pretty easily. However, Bungie’s recently thrown us a curveball and introduced the Weekly Challenges. This week’s challenge: Kill 1500 Enemies in Multiplayer Matchmaking this week.

Now, I know what you guys are probably thinking right now; “What the F***?!” I have to say I agree, 1500 Enemies in a week does seem like a daunting task. However, don’t put down your controller and hide under your couch just yet.

HaloReachTips.net has your back on this one. We’re gonna tell you everything we can to help you walk away with this week’s cR reward in the bank.

The first thing you need to consider when tackling a massive kill count like this is to consider which of your Halo strengths can help you the most in this situation. Case in point: If GAMETIME2121 is a bit of a lone wolf and sees his top performances in Rumble Pit, then he probably shouldn’t try to reinvent the wheel and jump into Team Snipers. Find whatever playlist that you find yourself averaging 11+ kills per game. Unless you’re a god at doubles, you probably should avoid gametypes with a small number of players that you can kill. I know few players really get their Halo fix out of Rumble pit, but it’s the ideal gametype for this challenge. With the top three players usually having well over 15 kills, you don’t necessarily have to win to gain a significant kill count. Plus, if you are a BAMF in Rumble Pit, You’ll see games of 25 kills pretty often.

Second word of advice: focus on your objective. This week’s objective: kill more enemies than Leonitas in 300. This means, of course, that you shouldn’t focus on other objectives. An example: NoobSkyWalker123 says he really want’s to earn the cR for the All in a Week’s Work challenge, but has been playing Team Snipers and relentlessly dropping opponent’s sheilds so his boys can clean them up. This might gain him the 1000cR for the A Friend in Need Challenge, but 10 kills and 11 assists isn’t going to cut it for this week’s Challenge. Keep your eye on the prize ponyboy if you really want to cross this one off your checklist.

Last tip: Dedication to the sport. This challenge is a little aimed towards the true Halo geeks out there, but that shouldn’t scare you away. Most gamers out there average around 900-1100 kills a week anyway, increasing your destruction by 50% isn’t going to require quitting your job (for those of you who have them). However, you are going to have to buckle down a little bit. Maybe your girlfriend or boyfriend (again for those of you who have them) can hang out with their friends a couple times this week. Your sacrifice will pay off.

Ok, Recap time.

1) Play to your strengths. Use your favorite weapon, and take no prisoners. For those of you objective fans, play the least important role so your team doesn’t mind you getting your kill face on.

2) Focus! Don’t catch yourself racking up assists or sacrificing a good kill count every game for a melee challenge.

3) Stick with it! Crack down and get a good session every day this week. Consider yourself part of project Mass Pwn!

That’s all the advice we got for ya, now get out there and noscope somebody!

Back in the swing of things, how is the Halo going guys?

Shootin’ and Lootin’
Kill 400 enemies in any game mode in Reach.
Worth: 4000cR

This is the easiest 4000cR you will ever earn. Head into a local custom Firefight game and use the game settings that you use to earn the firefight achievements (unlimited health, bottomless clip, etc). Kill everything you see, and you should earn this super fast.

A Great Friend
Earn 15 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking.
Worth: 900cR

No ‘I’ in Team
Earn 6 assists in a multiplayer Matchmaking game.
Worth: 360cR

As always work with a partner and try to get sniper games. As weird as it seems, tell your partner don’t aim for the head. Instead, let him drop shields with a body shot and finish him off with another body shot. Stay away from SWAT and lean towards Team Slayer and Big Team Battle. As weird as it will seem, don’t finish kills once you drop shields unless it is going to result in you dying. Hope for a teammate to finish the kill for you. Remember, you’re trying to get assists, not kills right now.

Up Close and Personal
Kill 5 enemies with close quarters combat in a multiplayer Matchmaking game.
Worth: 250cR

This one won’t be too bad to complete. Camp with a shotgun around a corner if you are having trouble beating people down and getting the 5 close quarter kills. The sword or shotgun on sword base camping the top of the green/yellow lift is a cheap but effective way to earn this as well.

Daily Challenge Tips 10/13

Why did no one catch that I forgot to add the Weekly Challenge on Monday? Sorry guys, here it is a couple of days late.

Your Daily Dose
Complete all of the Daily Challenges for a given day.
Worth: 2000cR

Today is a super easy day to get this done.

Weekly challenge:

Just a Shower
Complete any Campaign mission on Normal or harder with Thunderstorm on.
Worth: 2000cR

Might be the easiest 2000cR you’ll ever earn. Do Winter Contingency, normal, Thunderstorm skull on. Run past most of the map, and you can get this done in ~12 minutes or less.

Daily Challenges:

Heroic Demon
Kill 20 Elites in Firefight Matchmaking on Heroic or harder.
Worth: 2000cR

Play normal firefight games. I recommend Sniper fight as it makes it easy to kill the Elites when they drop. It may take you 2-3 games to get this since everyone will be gunning for the Elites. If Score Attack is more of your thing, do it, but when I did it only 6 Elites dropped, compared to ~15 or so in a normal game of Firefight (sniper fight).

Headshot Honcho
Kill 11 enemies with headshots in a multiplayer Matchmaking game.
Worth: 1100cR

A challenge made for SWAT. Pop heads and don’t look back. If you feel more comfortable getting this in another playlist, then by all means do it. But this seems custom tailored for a Team SWAT game.

Fire When Ready
Kill 30 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking
Worth: 300cR

If you already got the 11 from the last challenge, play another game or two and you’ll get this no problem.

Total cR: 5400 (not including Weekly)

Halo Reach Button Glitch: Instant Kill!

And here it is, the first button glitch of Halo: Reach. Seasoned Halo Players might remember the old Halo 2 button glitches which dominated the competitive play and turned it into a game of who could glitch faster. The same looks like it could happen in Reach.

Daily Challenge Tips 10/11

Each day, we will be giving you tips to easily complete the daily challenges. Daily challenges are challenges issued by Bungie in which you have 24 hours to complete. If completed, you gain a predetermined amount of credits. New challenges are given each day.

On vacation yesterday, back on the grind today.

The T.G. Opposition
Kill 40 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking with the Shotgun.
Worth: 600cR

One Spartan Army
Kill 100 enemies in Firefight Matchmaking.
Worth: 1000cR

Both of these can be done together. Go to Score Attack, and choose Score Attack as your gametype. Choose the map Beachhead, and pick the shotgun class. Head onto the roof of the building you spawn into. There is only one access point, the stairs you just went up. Camp those stairs with the shotgun and these will both come easily. This might be boring, but it is probably the easiest way to get it done since running into massive groups of enemies in firefight blindly seems to not work so well. There is also an ammo shelf at he bottom of the stairs. Be sure to finish off the enemies with the shotgun, resist the urge to beat them down.

Roast ‘em, Toast ‘em
Kill 10 enemies while jet-packing in Exodus on Normal.
Worth: 600cR

Exodus on normal, no skulls, rally point bravo. There will be some ODST troopers, and one will have a rocket launcher. Take it from him, then grab the jetback and start building hopping. You will come up on a lot of enemies, so be sure you are actively jetpacking when your rocket hits to earn the kills. Dont just rocket up and then fire when you are at the height of your jetpacking.

More than a Handful
Kill 77 enemies in multiplayer Matchmaking.
Worth: 750cR

If you’re having trouble with this, play some Big Team Battle and camp in a tank. The tank is over powered obviously, so you can easily rack up high amounts of kills very easily, especially if you spawn camp the enemy on Boneyard. Invasion usually nets more kills than traditional slayer games.

Daily Challenge Tips 10/9

Each day, we will be giving you tips to easily complete the daily challenges. Daily challenges are challenges issued by Bungie in which you have 24 hours to complete. If completed, you gain a predetermined amount of credits. New challenges are given each day.

Sorry for the hiatus the past couple of days. We’ve been having internal problems, but we’re back now, so lets get back to it!

Shootin’ and Lootin’
Kill 400 enemies in any game mode in Reach.
Worth: 4000cR

This is a very high paying daily challenge, so don’t let it go to waste. It might seem like a hard task, but it is actually quite simple. Want to do it the cheap but easy way? Hop into forge, create a basic map with one spawn for you (red team) and in front of you, 1-2 spawns for blue team. Sign in a couple of guests, hop into a custom game, turn the respawn time to the lowest setting, and have at it. Another easy way to get this done is play 4 games of Gruntpoclypse in score attack. You will net ~120 kills a game, and still be working towards this weeks weekly challenge.

A Great Friend
Earn 15 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking.
Worth: 900cR

This shouldn’t be too hard to do. Stay away from team SWAT, and if you’re having trouble getting these, work with a friend. Take down the shields and let a friend finish him off. Otherwise, over a few games of playing, you should be able to earn these naturally.

Three Dog Fight
Earn a Triple Kill in Multiplayer Matchmaking.
Worth: 750cR

This is a challenge made for Team SWAT. Nothing more than to be quick on the trigger, and make sure your aim is on. Also, multiteam is great for this, since you have a lot of people running around with no real objective.

Came From Behind
Perform 2 Assassinations in a multiplayer Matchmaking game.
Worth: 750cR

This one is a little tricky, but shouldn’t be too bad. Make sure you go through the assassination animation, don’t just beat them down from the back. Camp around corners, and let people run by. You have to watch out for sneaky teammates trying to get Yoink medals. Play close quarter maps, like Sword Base or Reflection. Stay away from maps such as Hemmorage.

Total cR: 6400

MLG Pro Ogre 2 BoardWalk Gameplay

Don’t you wish you could snipe like this?

Some tips to take away from this:

-He holds down one portion of the map. Less skilled players might call this “camping”, but it is a sound tactic that obviously works wonders for him.
-Notice the timing of his DMR shots. He isn’t spamming the trigger like his finger’s life depends on it. He times the DMR shots so he makes sure he is getting a headshot every time.
-He is very calm when aiming. He points at his target then shoots, not swinging his stick wildly and wondering why he didn’t nail a headshot.

Daily Challenge Tips 10/6

Each day, we will be giving you tips to easily complete the daily challenges. Daily challenges are challenges issued by Bungie in which you have 24 hours to complete. If completed, you gain a predetermined amount of credits. New challenges are given each day.

Be Vigilant
Score 10,000 points in any Campaign mission without dying.
Worth: 1200cR

You will want to do this on Heroic. Choose the mission Oni Sword Base. Turn on Cloud, Famine, and Thunderstorm skulls. Catch is an option as well, but I choose to not be covered in sticky grenades. I just ran through killing everything, and by the time I used the target locater to destroy the two Wraiths I had it completed. Once it says completed, you can save and quit, no need to finish the mission.

If you die and it says failed, save and quit! Do no click restart mission, it will not reset the challenge. Quit to the campaign menu, then change something so you make sure it reloads the mission instead of picking back up where you saved the last time.

I just completed this in 2:35. Post your time in the comment section of this post, and see if you can beat my time!

From Reader Regen:

“@ Be Vigilant

You can do it even faster and with less trouble than that.

Mission: Long Night of Solace, Rally Point A
Legendary with all of the skulls on.

You’ll start the mission in the Sabre about to be attacked by Banshees. The challenge can be completed in six Banshee kills, at 1700 pts a piece.

Time: 1:40″

A Great Friend
Earn 30 assists today in multiplayer Matchmaking.
Worth: 2000cR

As always, do 40% of damage and let someone finish the kill off. Try running with a friend and communicating well with him. Knock shields off of an enemy and don’t go in for the kill, even if it costs you your life. Make sure he takes the kill so you get the assist credit. Snipers is a great playlist to do this in. Work with your friend and stay close. Call targets to each other, and hit him with a body shot, and let your friend finish him off.

Now I have a Machine Gun
Earn 30 kills with automatic weapons in multiplayer Matchmaking.
Worth: 800cR

Vote for slayer gametypes that do not spawn with DMRs. Invasion is a good choice because an assault rifle is always an option throughout the entire game to spawn with. Don’t be tempted to hit your opponent after taking down his shields. Make sure to use your automatic weapon to finish off the kill.

Blastin’ and Relaxin’
Kill 180 enemies in any game mode in Reach.
Worth: 2000cR

If you’ve been working torwards the other three challenges, this one should come naturally. If you really need some kills to add to this, choose Score Attack and pick Gruntpoclypse. You will net ~120 kills.

Total cR: 6000

I think this is our highest single cR day yet, so don’t let these go to waste!
